How much it costs to extract a tooth in Dnipro and what the price depends on
In short: at Houston an ordinary tooth extraction costs UAH 2,000–3,500, a wisdom tooth 3,500–4,500. The range is no accident: a straight single-rooted tooth and a tooth lying sideways in the bone are operations of different complexity. Below — what the price depends on and why the exact sum is given only after an X-ray.
How much extraction costs
An ordinary tooth
UAH 2,000–3,500. Single-rooted and loose teeth are closer to the lower limit, multi-rooted and broken-down ones to the upper.
A wisdom tooth
UAH 3,500–4,500. Often a full operation with an incision and sutures, especially if the tooth has not erupted.
On top of this comes a consultation with an examination — from UAH 590, and where needed a targeted or panoramic X-ray to see the shape and position of the roots. The X-ray is not a way to «pad the bill» but a necessity: without it the surgeon works blind.
What determines the price
- Position of the tooth. A straight erupted tooth comes out in minutes. A tooth lying at an angle or in the bone needs an incision — that is a different operation.
- Number and shape of roots. A single-rooted front tooth and a molar with divergent roots are different in complexity.
- Degree of destruction. If there is almost no crown left and nothing to grip, the extraction is harder.
- Inflammation. An acute process around the tooth complicates both the procedure itself and the anaesthesia.
- Sutures. A surgical extraction often ends with sutures.
An ordinary extraction and a wisdom tooth — what is the difference
This is the most common source of confusion over the price. An ordinary erupted tooth the surgeon removes with an instrument in a few minutes under anaesthesia. A wisdom tooth is often:
- erupted only partially or not at all;
- growing at an angle, pressing against the neighbouring tooth;
- lying horizontally in the bone.
In such cases an incision in the gum is needed, sometimes dividing the tooth into parts and placing sutures. This is a full surgical operation, hence the higher range. The process is described in detail in the article on wisdom tooth removal.
Does a tooth always have to be extracted
No — and this is the honest part of the conversation. Sometimes a tooth that would be «sentenced» to extraction elsewhere can be saved with root canal treatment under a microscope. So before an extraction we assess whether it makes sense to save the tooth: your own tooth is almost always better than any replacement. But if the tooth is destroyed below the bone, cracked along the root, or has a focus that does not respond to treatment, extraction becomes the right decision.
What comes after extraction
The cost of extraction is not the whole story. After a tooth is lost, a gap remains and the neighbouring teeth shift over time. So at the consultation the surgeon immediately talks about restoration options: a crown on a preserved root or an implant, sometimes immediate, in the same socket. This is not upselling but a way to avoid losing the neighbouring teeth too later on.
How it works at Houston
- Consultation and X-ray — from UAH 590. We assess the complexity and whether the tooth can be saved.
- Extraction under anaesthesia — UAH 2,000–3,500 for an ordinary tooth, 3,500–4,500 for a wisdom tooth.
- Aftercare advice — how to care for the socket in the first two days, when complications are forming.
- Restoration plan — if the tooth is lost, we discuss what to replace it with and when.

Frequently asked questions
How much does it cost to extract a tooth in Dnipro?
At Houston an ordinary tooth extraction costs UAH 2,000–3,500 and a wisdom tooth extraction 3,500–4,500. The range depends on how the tooth is positioned and how badly it is destroyed. The exact sum is given after an examination and an X-ray, because complexity is not always visible to the eye.
Why is a wisdom tooth extraction more expensive?
Wisdom teeth often grow at an angle, are partly erupted or lie horizontally in the bone. Such an extraction is a full surgical operation with an incision and sutures, not an ordinary removal. Hence the higher range: UAH 3,500–4,500 versus 2,000–3,500 for an ordinary tooth.
What affects the price of an extraction?
First of all complexity: a straight single-rooted tooth comes out simply, while a multi-rooted one, destroyed to the root or impacted (one that has not erupted) takes more time and surgical technique. Inflammation and the need for sutures are also taken into account. That is exactly why an X-ray is needed.
Does extracting a tooth hurt?
The extraction itself is done under local anaesthesia — you feel pressure but not pain. Some discomfort is possible afterwards, as the anaesthesia wears off: it is relieved with ordinary painkillers on the dentist's advice. Modern agents work reliably even with inflammation.
Can an implant be placed straight away instead of the extracted tooth?
In many cases yes — this is called immediate implantation. Whether it is possible depends on the reason for extraction, the state of the bone and the presence of inflammation; the surgeon assesses this from an X-ray. Sometimes the implant is placed at once, sometimes after healing. This is decided at the consultation.
What should I do after a tooth extraction?
The first two days are critical: a clot forms in the socket and protects the wound. Do not rinse your mouth vigorously, do not warm the cheek, avoid hot and hard food and physical exertion. Detailed advice is given by the dentist after the procedure. If the pain worsens on day 3–4, that is a reason to contact the clinic.
