How much root canal treatment under a microscope costs in Dnipro
Root canal treatment at Houston costs from UAH 7 100 for a single-root tooth and from UAH 11 500 for a molar. The microscope and anaesthesia are included in the price. Here is what the amount depends on, how many visits it takes and why first-time treatment pays off.
Root canal treatment prices at Houston
The price depends mainly on how many canals the tooth has and whether they were treated before. We treat all canals only under the microscope, so there is no separate microscope surcharge — it is part of the work.
- Single-root tooth (front teeth, some premolars) — from UAH 7 100;
- Two-root tooth — from UAH 8 500;
- Molar, 3–4 canals — from UAH 11 500;
- Treatment of periodontitis in one visit — from UAH 8 900;
- Root canal retreatment — calculated after the examination and an X-ray;
- Removal of a broken instrument from a canal — UAH 1 950–3 250;
- Endodontic microsurgery — from UAH 16 500;
- Core build-up under a crown — from UAH 2 450.
Anaesthesia is included in the treatment price. A consultation with a treatment plan costs UAH 690.
How to tell you need root canal treatment
Canals are treated when inflammation or infection has reached the nerve or gone beyond the root. Suspect it if:
- the tooth aches on its own, especially at night, with a throbbing pain;
- pain from hot or cold lingers long after the stimulus is gone;
- biting on the tooth hurts, or it feels “higher” than its neighbours;
- the gum near the tooth or the cheek is swollen — this is urgent, see dental abscess;
- the tooth has darkened and an X-ray shows a shadow at the root tip.
There is a quiet scenario too: a tooth has not hurt for a long time while inflammation at the root grows into a cyst or granuloma. It is found on an X-ray during an examination. So the absence of pain does not mean the tooth is fine.
If it hurts right now, the first steps before your visit are in acute toothache.
What the final amount depends on
The number of canals. A front tooth usually has one canal, a back tooth three or four. About 90% of upper molars have a fourth canal, MB2: it lies deep and is almost impossible to find without magnification. A missed canal is the main reason for recurring pain and retreatment.
Whether the tooth was treated before. Retreatment costs more and takes longer: the old filling material has to be removed from the canals, missed canals found, sometimes a broken instrument retrieved. More in root canal retreatment.
The diagnosis. Pulpitis (an inflamed nerve) and periodontitis (inflammation already at the root) are treated differently; the second is covered in periodontitis treatment.
What happens to the tooth next. A tooth after a root canal is brittle and most often needs an inlay or a crown. We include it in the plan from the start, so you see the full amount instead of finding out a year later.
What the price includes and what is paid separately
The price of root canal treatment includes work under the microscope, anaesthesia, cleaning and shaping the canals, filling them and temporarily closing the tooth between visits. Paid separately:
- a consultation with a plan on your first visit — UAH 690;
- removal of a broken instrument if the tooth was treated before — UAH 1 950–3 250;
- restoring the tooth after the canals: a core build-up from UAH 2 450, then an inlay or a crown, zirconia from UAH 7 200;
- a CBCT scan if a regular X-ray is not enough to see the anatomy or the inflammation.
The dentist shows all of this in the plan before work begins. If something new appears during treatment — for example, a crack under an old filling — we stop and explain what has changed in the prognosis and the price before continuing.
Why we treat canals only under the microscope
Canals form a system with branches and narrowings as thin as a hair. Without magnification a dentist works by feel and by X-ray. Under the microscope the dentist sees the canal openings, even calcified ones, remnants of old material and a root crack that may not show on an X-ray at all.
It matters to see a crack before the work begins: then we give the prognosis straight away instead of discovering the problem halfway through treatment. What this looks like in practice: treatment under the microscope.
How many visits are needed
A simple tooth usually takes 1–2 visits. Complex cases — retreatment, a cyst at the root — take 2–3 visits. We aim to finish in as few appointments as possible, but not at the cost of quality: if a canal has not dried or inflammation is active, it is better to close it temporarily and finish next time.
Between visits the tooth has a temporary filling. You should not live with it for months; the risks are described in inlay or filling after a root canal.
Why first-time treatment pays off
The first root canal treatment is the most favourable scenario: the anatomy is intact and the infection is limited. According to reviews of clinical studies, the success rate of primary treatment is higher than that of retreatment by about five to ten percentage points.
So when you choose between cheaper now and done properly once, count the cost of the tooth, not the cost of the visit. Retreatment costs more and has a worse prognosis, and the next step after a failure is often extraction and an implant or a bridge.
When a tooth that was “sentenced” can still be saved
Patients often come saying they were told to have the tooth removed. Sometimes that is true: a vertical root fracture leaves no chance. But often the cause is a missed canal or poor old filling, and such a tooth can be saved by retreatment.
The answer comes from an examination under the microscope and an X-ray, and a CBCT scan if needed. It is better to come for a consultation before an extraction than after: an extracted tooth cannot be brought back.
Frequently asked questions
How much does root canal treatment under a microscope cost in Dnipro?
At Houston a single-root tooth costs from UAH 7 100, a two-root tooth from UAH 8 500, a molar with 3–4 canals from UAH 11 500. The microscope and anaesthesia are included. Retreatment is calculated after the examination.
Do I pay extra for the microscope?
No. We treat canals only under the microscope, and the price already includes it.
How many visits does root canal treatment take?
A simple tooth usually takes 1–2 visits; retreatment or a cyst takes 2–3 visits.
Why is a molar root canal more expensive?
A molar has three or four canals, and upper molars often have an extra MB2 canal that is almost invisible without a microscope. There is more work, and it is more complex.
Is a crown needed after a root canal?
Most often yes: a tooth after a root canal is brittle. We include an inlay or a crown in the plan from the start so you see the full amount.
